Jacksonville, NC – Eugene Breeze, 83, died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his residence. Graveside services with military honors were held on Wednesday, 12:00 pm at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with DAV Chaplain Gregg Hayes officiating.
He was born in Manchester, Ohio to Harry and Irene Breeze and was one of 9 siblings - 4 sisters: Evelyn Tomlin, Kay Chandler, Jane Breeze and Sue Humphrey and there were 5 brothers - all patriots too! Including Gene there were 5 Marines, Gene, Jim, Larry, Bob and Tom and his eldest brother Don was in the Army!
Gene was a retired Captain with the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in the Korean War and three tours of duty during the Vietnam War receiving a battle-field commission for bravery.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Breeze-Fox of Hobe Sound, FL; two sons, Christopher Breeze of Jacksonville, NC and Scott Breeze of Washington, DC; four brothers, four sisters, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and his four legged friend and companion, Angel Dog.
