Sara Norma Ruff Richardson, 77, of Pomaria, SC, born in Newberry County to David Feldon Ruff and Sara Hentz Ruff, died December 15, 2013, at her residence.
She graduated cum laude from Newberry College and was a retired English teacher, having taught at Chapin High School for 36 years. She was a former Teacher of the Year and served as Senior Class Sponsor for a number of years. After her retirement, she was employed by Artic Chill in the Accounts Receivable Department for 7 years.
She was a member of Pomaria Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and performed secretarial work that included preparing the church bulletin for many years. She also served as a past Chairman of the Social Ministry Committee of Pomaria Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, R. Paul Richardson; a daughter, Paula Lynn Richardson of Los Angeles, California; sisters, Mildred (James) Wicker and Jimmie Ruff both of Newberry.
Funeral services: 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2013, at Pomaria Lutheran Church with the Rev. Doctor Derald Edwards, with burial following in St. Philip's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Newberry, SC.
Pallbearers will be Tarry Long, Tommy Long, Keith Wicker, Eric Long, Hunter Key, Mark Ebert, and Neil Huffstetler.
