Funeral services for Laura Beth Owen, age 69, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Odis Bryan officiating. Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Owen passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Tyler.
She was born March 16, 1944 in Newburn Hospital in Jacksonville. She attended Jacksonville Independent School District and graduated Tyler Junior College. Laura was a dietary supervisor for 35 years in several hospitals. She was also a member of First Baptist Church since 1987 and a member of the Mary Martha class.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bert Edison Owen; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davis; and Gladys George. She was blessed with two mothers in this world.
Survivors include her brother, Ralph George and wife Betty of Grand Prairie; their children, Steven and Julie; nieces and nephews, Johnny and Wanda Guinn of Jacksonville, Lynda and David Foster of Jacksonville, Glynda and Lonnie Musick of Bluff Dale, Jimmy Don Guinn of Tyler, Patricia Ray of Jacksonville, Vicki and Jim Turner of Jacksonville, Jerry and Shelly Guinn of San Antonio, Tenna and Phillip Walding of Jacksonville, Gale and Tim Wilson of Fort Smith, AR, Sondra Ellis of Jacksonville; aunts, Mary Reynolds and Joy Bettis of Jacksonville; numerous great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Shane Ray, Johnathon Guinn, Dalton Walding, Johnny Guinn, Jimy , and Philip Walding.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
