LaDonna F. (Winebrenner) Smith
FROSTBURG - LaDonna F. Smith, 68, of Frostburg, died Sunday Aug. 17, 2008, at her residence.
Born July 23, 1940, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Virginia (Martin) Winebrenner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, William, James, and Richard Winebrenner; and one sister, Gail Winebrenner.
LaDonna was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church, Frostburg Eagles Aerie 1273 and Women of the Moose Chapter 221, where she was a Senior Regent of the Academy of Friendship and a Recorder.
She was a homemaker.
LaDonna is survived by her husband of 51 years, Herbert Glenn "Herb" Smith; one daughter, Karen Preston and husband Kenneth Sr., of Fort Myer, Va.; three grandchildren, Valerie Preston and fiancé Stephen Smith, of Germantown, Kenneth Preston Jr. and wife Stacy, of Spokane, Wash., and Michael Preston and wife Melanie, of Mount Savage; and two great-grandchildren, Addison Preston, of Spokane, and Madison Smith, of Germantown.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Women of the Moose will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Mr. James Rice officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Preston Jr., Michael Preston, Kenneth Preston Sr., Allen Winebrenner, Dale Winebrenner, Mark Dom and Robert Laber. Honorary pallbearer will be Lee Knieriem.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Durst Funeral Home to defray funeral expenses.
