KENTON, Aug. 11 - In failing health for a year and hospitalized for 10 days, John Dee Keckler, 38, of 115 S. Leighton-st, died Tuesday in San Antonio hospital.
An inspector for the state highway department, Mr. Keckler was active as a sports promoter. He was active in both the Moose and Eagles lodges.
Born Jan. 8, 1910, in Goshen-tp, he lived all his life in this community. His widow, Ruth Dunson Keckler, whom he married Feb. 11, 1928; three sons, Robert, Kenton, and Jerry Lee and Danny, both at home; his parents, John M. and Margaret Keckler, and three brothers, Paul, Vincent and Vernon, all of Kenton, survive.
The Rev. H. E. Pfister will conduct services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Schindewolf funeral home and burial will be in Grove cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home.
