TEXAS CITY - Bobbie Jean Rhodes, 68, of Texas City, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2000, at St. John Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, at Neighborhood Baptist Church, 1800 Oleander Drive, La Marque, Texas, with the Rev. Dana Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Visitation will be 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Emken-Linton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rhodes was born April 23, 1931, in Florien, Louisiana. She was a retired private duty nurse and a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in Dickinson, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Sarah Scott; two sisters, Christine Little and Ola Mae TLnsley, one brother, Johnny Lee Scott; and twd grandsons, Ernie Shepherd and Anthony Lindley.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Henry L. Rhodes Sr. From this union three children were born: daughter Beverly E. Spencer and sons Ray L. Rhodes and Gary P. Rhodes, all of West Texas City, Texas; three stepchildren, Henry L. Rhodes Jr. (Sissy), Rosie L. Wynne of Lawton, Oklahoma and Ruthie Stormer (Ernie) of Texas City, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers are Sam H. Rhodes, Steven W. Harvey, Albert L. Perry, John L. Bell, Charlie Fredricks and Willis Guidry. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Westward Benevolence Club.
