INGSTREE, S.C. -- Darlene McKenzie Ray, 54, died Saturday, December 14, 2013, at her residence.
Ms. Ray was born July 12, 1959, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Wardell Dewitt McKenzie, Sr. and Mary Powell McKenzie. She was a former employee of Baxter Labs and was a member of Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dewitt McKenzie.
Surviving are: her children, Carol McKenzie of Kingstree and Ellis McKenzie of Sahuarita, Arizona; sisters, Cheryl (Gary) McClam of Kingstree, and Billie Lee Shewmake of Montgomery, AL; brother, Richard (Toni) McKenzie of Kingstree; granddaughter, Callahan McKenzie; and a special friend, Donald "Bud" Miles of Kingstree.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Tuesday in the Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church, 172 Delos Road, Kingstree, SC 29556.
