Nathan was born February 18, 1907 to George and SaraAnn Eliza Brockbank Hales in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Nathan chose to follow in the footsteps of his father by taking over the family farm and nobly labored there for the greatest part of his life. Nathan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an honorable mission to Eastern Canada. He faithfully served as a counselor in the bishopric for many years.
Nathan married his sweetheart, Marion Groesbeck, on February 20, 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 61 years.
Nathan is survived by his wife, Marion; a brother, Angus, Springville; sisters, Leah Harrison and Mary Franson, Springville; sons, Charles and Stephen, Burley, Idaho; daughters, Nancy Yeck, Spanish Fork and Carol Fisher, Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
Nathan loved to travel and enjoyed seeing farms all over the country. He truly loved the soil that will be receiving his noble mortal remains.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 25 at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Fork LDS West Stake Center, 650 West 400 No. There will be a viewing Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 So. Main Street, Spanish Fork and from 9:45 to 10:45 prior to the services on Thursday. Burial, Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
