Bobby McAlister, age,71, of Alpena, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013.
He was born Jan. 4, 1942 at Osage, the son of Bruce and Edna Underdown McAlister. On Oct. 7, 1963 he was united in marriage with Madlyn McCollough. Bob worked most of his life in the timber industry and on his farm. He loved farm work, gardening and riding his four-wheeler. Most of all , he loved spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling them.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Madlyn McAlister of the home, sons Scott McAlister of Omaha, Brad and wife Mandy of Berryville, daughters, Nancy and husband Vernon Collins of Berryville, Sandy Conner of Berryville, Tracy and husband Jake Miles of Alpena, 2 brothers, Don and wife Shirley of Green Forest, Ronnie and wife Debbie of Harrison, sisters, Lucy McNair of Osage, Mary and husband Vernon Armor of Harrison, Charlene and husband Leo Davidson of Harrison, grandchildren, Shawn and wife Amanda, Matthew and wife Jennifer. (Both Shawn and Marrthew were raised in
Bob and Madylns home).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Edna McAlister,
one son, Billy McAlister and one brother, Troy McAlister.
Celebration of life will be held at 10.00 A.M. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest, with pastor Gerry Bryant and brother David Maybe officiating.
Interment will follow at the Gobbler Cemetery.
