Funeral services for Fred Sassman, 85, were July 29 at Baptist in TL with Rev J K Sherman officiating. Special music was furnished by Paul Dolan with Mrs. Hazel Olson accompanist.
Interment will be in TL cemetery. Casketbearers: Robert Larson, William Nash, Ted Smolik, Gust Storm, Morris Larson, Alvin Herman. Kesling FH charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sassman passed away July 26 at the Mobridge Hospital. He had been hospitalized only a couple of days.
Born Fredric William Sassman Sept 4, 1880 at Corydon, IA, son of Albert and Anna Schreck Sassman. In 1904 the family moved to Gregory, SD. In 1910 Fred homesteaded 13 miles NW of TL and lived here the remainder of his life. He was a carpenter by trade. He was not married.
He is survived by four sisters: Martha Sassman and Eva Hill of TL; Louise Kimball of Gregory; Mrs. Eli Tuttle of Winner; two brothers: George of TL; William of Springfield, OR.
He was preceded in death by 1 sister and 2 brothers.
