Born in Stamford, Vt., on July 11, 1939, she was the daughter of Thomas and Maude (Sumner) Norton. She moved to Newark, N.J., at an early age and attended schools in Newark. She graduated from high school there.
She returned to North Adams when she was in her 20s and had been a resident of Clearwater, Fla., for 13 years until she returned to North Adams in 2003.
Ms. Alcombright was last employed as a licensed nursing assistant at Top of the World Retirement Community in Claearwater until her retirement.
She was a very kind, loving, generous friend. Her house was always open.
She leaves three daughters, Kimberly A. Bissaillon of Williamstown with whom she made her home., Kelly A. Heller and Bobbijo L. Perras of North Adams, two sons, Thomas N. Heller of North Adams and Robert McNeil of Orlando, Fla., seven grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Norton of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Marie Gagnon of Bellville, Texas; nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services and burial for Constance Alcombright will be private.
There are no calling hours.
