From the 1/23/1906 Van Wert, Ohio, Twice-A-Week Bulletin: "Death came suddenly Sunday evening to one of the oldest and most honored residents of this town. Mrs. Eliza J. Dailey, widow of the late Judge A.T. Dailey, suffered an attack of pneumonia, Sunday morning, and this, combined with the effects of heart disease, from which she had been ailing for many months, brought her life to an unexpected close. Mrs. Dailey was born in Madison county, in the year 1831, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Ainsworth, who were among the early settlers of this county. She was married in 1856 and, with her husband, lived in the vicinity of Willshire until 1882, when they removed to Van Wert. She was a devout christian, a faithful member of the First Methodist church and a woman of many warm friendships. She is survived by four children, Mrs. L.H. Lindsey, Mrs. C.E. Wilkinson and William H. and Herbert E. Dailey. Her funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, at the family home on Keplar street."
