"DAWLEY—In Brooklyn, Jan. 8, 1888, FRANCES E., widow of the late William T. Dawley.
"Funeral from her late residence, 83 Lafayette avenue, Brooklyn, on the 11th inst. at 8 P.M. Interment at Troy."
"IN MEMORIAM.
"Mrs. Frances Belding Dawley, who died at her home, No. 83 Lafayette ave., Brooklyn, Sunday, Jan. 8, 1888, and so peacefully closed a life which shed the lustre of its purity upon all around her. A tender, self-sacrificing mother, striving over to instill into the minds of her children lofty principles of right. To 'keep them pure and unspotted from the world' was her constant endeavor. Surely 'they shall rise up and call her blessed.' As a friend, she was loyal and sympathetic, one to whom the erring could confess their sins and the sorrowful tell their grief. And when the end came it was simply a folding to rest of hands, always ready to scatter blessings, a stilling of the strong, loving heart that had throbbed with love to all humanity, a closing of eyes that had seen only that which was best in her fellow creatures. And, to the listening, waiting soul of this dear saint, came at last the divine voice calling in infinite mercy. 'Come home, beloved.'"
