Aurora Tougas, 85, of Paynesville died on Friday, June 10, at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 17, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Aurora Justina Tougas was born on Feb. 18, 1926, to Dona and Virginia Houle at the family home in Red Lake Falls, Minn.
She married Aurel J. (AJ) Tougas on April 24, 1944. In their 67 years together, they welcomed nine children: Richard, Claudia, Michael, Laurel, June, Carol, Daniel, Sandra, and Todd.
Through her life, Aurora called home in Red Lake Falls; Grand Forks, N.D.; Warroad, Minn.; Wadena, Minn.; and Paynesville. Aurora and AJ also enjoyed being snowbirds, crisscrossing the countryside in their motor home in later years.
Aurora is survived by her husband; children; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her, mother Virginia Houle; father, Dona Houle; brother, Lawrence "Sonny" sisters, Gladys, JoAnne, Madonna, and Cecilia; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
