Marjorie Ann "Midge" Miller Wilson
April 13, 1941 - November 21, 2013
Resident of Santa Cruz
Marjorie "Midge" Ann Wilson passed away November 21 at the age of 72 in Santa Cruz, CA. She was born in Santa Monica & grew up near the southern California beaches. Midge & her husband married 50 years ago on May, 5, 1963 & were self employed in Livermore, CA where they raised their family. She loved spending time at the family houseboat on Lake McClure. They retired to Santa Cruz in 1991. Midge was elated to be relieved of lifelong hay fever & appreciated the milder summer climate Santa Cruz provided. Midge is survived by her husband, Bob, her sister, Millie (Gold Beach, OR), her daughter Becky (Cudahy, WI), granddaughters Genesa (Santa Cruz) & Haley (Dublin). She was pre-deceased by her parents, Howard & Kate Miller, her sons, Barry & Robbie, her brothers Don & Dennis, & her sister, Marilyn.
A celebration of life is planned for the summer followed by cremains burial at sea.

Midge was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy shortly after retiring to Santa Cruz in June 1991.
A rigorous daily exercise routine kept her MD from progressing as much as it would have otherwise up until she acquired Botulism poisoning in 2007. She battled that for about two years with countless doctor appointments & trial medications & a lot of bed rest. She finally met the criteria for blood transfusions which marked the end of that epic battle but the two years of muscle deterioration was irreversible.
She was diagnosed with Myelodysplasia (ineffective production of blood cells resulting in progressive bone marrow failure) early 2013 but was not a candidate for the aggressive treatments; her heart was also in poor condition.
Midge was admitted to the hospital October 19th, 2013 severely de-hydrated & weak. The hospital found a brain bleed but she did not wish to pursue surgery. After blood transfusions & hospital care, she transferred to Driftwood Skilled Nursing Home on October 24th.
Midge passed away on Thursday, November 21st at 1:55 AM.
