The daughter of Garrett and Ethel (Ables) Crain was born Aug. 5, 1925, at Boone County. Ms. Crain was of the Baptist faith and had been a member of the Luther Rice Memorial Baptist Church in Maryland.
Before moving back to Harrison, Mabel worked many years in Washington, D.C., as a secretary for the Department of Defense and United States Treasury Department.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Virginia Youngblood and Florene Hunt.
She is survived by a nephew, Michael (Kathleen) Youngblood, of Harrison; great-nieces, Kerrie Szabo and Jill Olah; and a host of family and friends
