Maynard Marshall Boyd, 73, of Monroe, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013. He was born in Ararat, VA, on Dec. 25, 1939, to Elizabeth Marshall Boyd & Elmer Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Emily Pannell Boyd, of Monroe; son & daughter-in-law, Derry & Debbie Boyd, of Monroe; sister, Lorene Boyd West, of Mount Airy, NC; and grandchildren, Nicole Boyd, of Monroe, and Andrew Boyd, of Monroe. Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Rupert Evans, the Rev. Bill Lloyd and the Rev. Ken Deitle officiating. Burial followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the St. Stephens Building Fund, 113 Mill St., Monroe, GA 30655. Meadows Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
