Wife of Edmond Phelps

Mary Harvey Phelps, age 87, died Monday, May 20, 1991 in Ogden.

She was born May 8, 1904 in Kaysville, a daughter of James Smuin and Mary Bosworth Harvey. She married Edmond Phelps, June 6, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a member of the LDS Church, and served in the Relief Society, Sunday School and the MIA. She served as the local and state officer in the Democratic Party. Was county president of DUP. Member of the Kaysville Civic Assoc.

Surviving are: her husband; two sons, and one daughter, David N. Phelps, Roseville, Calif.; John H. Phelps, Sunset, Utah; Esther Parks, Salt Lake City; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Ray B. Harvey, Kaysville.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. at the Fruit Heights 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 901 So. Old Mountain Road, with Bishop Ned Giles officiating. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary, 250 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton; and Thursday at the church from 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Interment Kaysville City Cemetery.
