Much confusion has existed over the ensuing years about Rebecca.
I have invested a great deal of time attempting to answer the questions that involve her and her children with regard to their correct parentage.
The fact is that "we" do not know who the father of her children was.
In 1900 as part of the census taking, Rebecca reported that she was a widow and had given birth to five children. All of those children were reported as still living.
The still unanswered question remains...was Rebecca married or not? If so, had she married a man who shared the same surname?
