Funeral services for Jesse W. Heathcock, 78, of Newark will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Bro. Bill Goodwin will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Barton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

Heathcock, born Nov. 16, 1924, in Steele, Mo., died July 19, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

He was a retired mechanic from Allied Chemical Company and was a member of the Newark Baptist Church.

He leaves his wife Shirley Newborn Heathcock of Newark; two sons, Dennis Heathcock of Lancaster, Calif., and Nathan Heathcock of Mason, Ohio; three daughters, Paula Rogers of Everett, Wash., Susan Smith of Newark and Sam Walker of Southhaven, Miss.; four grandsons and four granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Oscar Bradshaw, Bud Buford, Bob McKinney, Kenneth Winfrey, Sidney McCurley, Thomas Smith, Nick Brocato, Carson McGee and Jay Cheek.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, National Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.

Roller Citizens Funeral Home will direct services.
