One of the saddest deaths that has recently occurred in this community is that of Mrs. John HASLER, on Friday morning at one o’clock. She had not been in her usual health for some time. On Thursday she prepared dinner and ate heartily. Thursday night she was taken suddenly ill, and the doctor and neighbors were called, but in spite of all that could be done she passed away. Nobody hardly realized that she was dead. She leaves a husband and seven children, a father, sister and seven brothers, and relatives and friends to mourn her loss. Her remains were taken to the Dutch Cemetery Saturday morning. The funeral services were conducted at the family residence in Taylor Township by Rev. H. H. ALLEN, of Bloomfield. Her favorite songs were, “I’ve anchored My Soul in the Haven of Rest,” and “Wash Me in the Blood of the Lamb and I Shall be Whiter than Snow.” She was forty-three years, four months and thirteen days old. She was born and raised in this vicinity, and was known for her light hearted happy, disposition. She had been a consistent Christian for six years, having been a member of the Church of God at Walnut Grove.
