Louise Nunez Hayes, 87, of Bell City passed away at 3:30 PM, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in a local hospital.

She was a native and lifelong resident of the Bell City area. Mrs. Hayes was a graduate of Bell City High School and played Basketball in high school a sport she enjoyed playing after graduation in the women's independent leagues. She worked many years for her father at Nunez Grocery Store in Bell city and after his death became part owner and operator of the store along with her sister. She also worked as a hairdresser for many years. Louise enjoyed bowling and camping, but her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Corine "Connie" Addison, and husband Joey; her son, Charles Dwight Reed and wife Lynette; one sister, Patsy Holland and husband A. J.; four grandchildren, Shawn Crochet, Neva Lynn Smith and husband Jason, Kimberly Fontenot and husband Clayton, and Kristen Reed; 5 great grandchildren; Colby and Corte Leonard, Kollin Dufour, Kole Reed, and Keaton Fontenot; one great great grandchild; and numerous stepchildren, step grandchildren, and great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alice "Nucy" Nunez; brother & sister-in-law, Bob and Shirley Hayes; and her special extended family, Pat, Theresa, Hope, and Chole. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. "Buster Hayes; her parents, Ferdinand and Corine Nunez; brother, Harold Nunez, and her sister, Edna Elaine Townsend.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City. Reverend Emmanuel Tanu will officiate. Burial will be in DeRouen-Lorrain Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM, and continue Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
