Christian Fred Eisenhardt was born in Germany, on July 25th, 1868, and passed away at the hospital in Neillsville, Wis., on April 19th, 1947, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 25 days.
He was the second of five children of Jacob and Louise Eisenhardt, and came to this country with his parents when sixteen years of age. The family settled on a farm near Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), and he worked on his father’s farm, and in the winter time in the logging camps and saw mills.
In 1898, he married Ida Louise Rexer of Little Rock, Ark., and they settled on a farm east of Humbird. Excepting for a few years at Little Rock, he spent his entire adult life in and around Humbird.
Mr. Eisenhardt is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Zoro (Lorine) Elliott of Carlsbad, N.M.; Mrs. Luther (Edith) Warner of Humnoke, Ark.; Mrs. L.F. (Minnie) Allen, and Mrs. W.E. (Mamie) Ducker of Little Rock, Ark. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. George Laffe of Humbird; one brother, Henry of Chicago; and eight grandchildren. One son, Alvin, one brother, and one sister, preceded him in death.
Funeral services, were held at the funeral chapel in Neillsville on Wednesday afternoon, April 23rd, the Rev. Geo. W. Hohmann, of St. John’s Church, preaching the burial sermon from the text, Isaiah 54:10. Pallbearers were four nephews, Louis Laffe, Leonard Laffe, Henry Laffe, and Chas. Eisenhardt. Burial was in Mentor Cemetery. Relatives from away attending were Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Ducker, Little Rock, Ark.; Henry Eisenhardt, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Haag, Melrose; and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Eisenhard, Baraboo.
