Funeral services for Mrs. Adona Jeanette Pfost Cain, age 85, of Ruston, LA will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church at 2:00PM, Sunday, December 2, 2007, with Rev. Fred Wideman and Rev. Andy Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Mrs. Cain was born in West Helena, AR on May 10, 1922 to the union of Howard and Lucy Pfost. She married Rev. Wesley Ralph Cain and became a minister's wife serving with her husband at Memorial Methodist Church in Monroe, Springhill United Methodist Church in Springhill and Mangum Memorial Methodist Church in Shreveport. Mrs. Cain also taught speech for junior high and high school and loved to volunteer for her church and community where needed. She enjoyed baking, reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her four sons: Noel Cain of Minden, LA, Bruce Cain and wife Sue of West Monroe, LA, Richard Cain and wife Carolyn of Phoenix, AZ and Paul Cain and wife Lynda of Kingwood, TX; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother: Howard Phillip Pfost and wife Ann of Tampa, FL and her sister: Mary Frances Ewing Adler and husband Homer of Alexandria, LA.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 1, 2007 from 5PM until 7PM at Trinity United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to: Louisiana Methodist Children's Home.
