Nolensville - Douglas Owen Nelms Born in Brighton, TN to the late Walter Lee Nelms and Alma Owen Nelms on the 25th of January 1920 and passed away in Franklin, TN on the 10th of December 2013 at the age of 93. Douglas proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and spent his career working as the Personnel Manager at Ely & Walker until he retired. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Nelms; and those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving daughter, Suzanne Honeycutt and her husband Eric, along with his grandson, Andrew Douglas Honeycutt. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Friday, the 13th of December 2013 at his church of membership, Covenant Baptist Church, 6820 Nolensville Road, Brentwood, TN 37027 with Pastor Randall Jackson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will include members of The Larry White Sunday School Class. The family cordially invites friends to a time of visitation at the church two hours prior to the service. A private family interment will be held at one o'clock on Saturday, the 14th of December 2013 at Memorial Park in Memphis, TN.
