AURORA — Roslyn Marie "Roz" Andrews, 87, of Aurora died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. The Rev. Michael Patzloff will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of the
arrangements.
Mrs. Andrews was born April 14, 1926, at Belleville, Ill., to Walter and Emma Pauline (Grossmann) Beyer.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ward Andrews; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kent E. Andrews of Oakland, Calif., and Keith S. and Vicki Andrews of Pearland, Texas; and a daughter-in-law, Linda J. Andrews of York.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Ben Andrews and Tessa and Taylor Andrews.
Roz grew up and graduated from Belleville Township High School in 1944. Following her graduation, she managed the classified advertising department at the Daily Advocate in Belleville for eight years.
Roz was united in marriage to Ward Andrews on June 14, 1952, in Belleville, Ill. Following their marriage they lived in Illinois until 1959, when they moved to Abilene, Kan. In 1965, they moved to Aurora, where they owned the Ben Franklin store until their retirement in 1985.
Roz was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, where she served as President of the church circles. She was also a member of the Aurora Chapter of P.E.O. and the Aurora Country Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and they especially enjoyed spending their winters in Green Valley, Ariz.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
