Oil City Derrick, Oct 19 2013:

Debra L. Palmer, 61, of Franklin died at 11:34 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at her home. A daughter of Wiley E. and Eleanor L. Hunt Thorman, she was born March 4, 1952, in New Castle.

She was a 1970 graduate of Shenango High School, worked as a receptionist at B.S.I. Financial, was a member and former officer of the Franklin Elks, a member of the Franklin Moose and the Vets, served on the nominating committee for the Venango County Republicans, worked at The Barrow Civic Theatre, served on their board of directors, acted on the big stage and the Little Theatre, and if not on the stage was backstage working, often as the costumer. Many an organization or cause considered Deb an angel as she always seemed to be cooking, working or supporting a fundraiser. In her spare time she loved camping and motorcycle riding with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren.

On Jan. 1, 2011, she married Raymond L. Palmer who survives, with two sons, Scot Buffington and wife, Sarah, of Beaver and Eric Krepps of Pittsburgh, two grandchildren, a brother Bruce Thorman and wife, Anne, of New Castle; and a sister, Marsha Mazzacco of New Castle.

Services will be held at Huff Funeral Home, 312 W. Park St., Franklin, with Rev. Gary Small, pastor of the United Brethren Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
