Connie W. Meyer, born Feb.
1, 1917 to William Meyer and
Linna Meyer of Peterson,
passed away September 30,
2004 in Edmonds, Wash., at age
87.

Connie had a full and interesting
life. His family farmed in
Peterson where he attended
school and graduated from
high school. Rejoined the Navy
serving in W.W II and visiting
several ports around the world.
In 1944, he married Jeanette
Hamann of Storm Lake. They
were blessed with four children.
He retired from the Navy
as a Lt. Commander after 22
years of service.

Connie's second career
started at Buena Vista College
majoring in education. From
Storm Lake he moved to Lynnwood,
Wash, entering the
University of Washington, then
graduating from Seattle Pacific
University. After teaching in
Washington several years, he
and Jeanie returned to Iowa
and bought a farm in Linn
Grove. Connie continued
teaching and became principal
to his old school in Peterson,
which gave his a great joy! He
also received his Master of Arts
in 1971 from the University of
South Dakota in Vermillion.
After 21 years of teaching, he
retired and they moved again
to Washington to be closer to
their children. During their
retirement, they traveled
around the US and in Europe.
They loved salmon fishing in
Washington and bullhead fishing
at their condo by Lake
Okoboji where they went yearly
to visit family and friends in
Iowa.

Connie joins Jeanie, who
preceded him in death in 2002,
along with his brothers Phillip,
Boyd and sister June.

He is survived
by his daughter Libby
McCauley; his sons Scott
Meyer and John Meyer, all of
Washington state; his son Steve
Meyer of Alabama; his sister
Bonnie Kraemer of Minnesota;
his brother Kelly Meyer of
North Carolina; sister-in-law
Vivian Meyer of Larrabee; 12
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
