Retired Farmer, Elm Grove Resident, Died Early Monday

Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock funeral services are to be conducted in the Crider funeral home chapel in Elm Grove, for J. Wiley Dorsey, 80, retired Ohio county farmer and well known resident of of Elm Grove, whose death Monday morning at 9:50 o'clock at his home, 121 Center Street, followed a lengthy illness.

Dr. J.C. Buckley, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Elm Grove, will officiate. Internment will be made in Greenwood Cemetery.

Deceased was born at Calis, Marshall County, May 9, 1860, a son of Cornelius and Sophia Strickland Dorsey, pioneer residents of that district. He spent his early life at Calis, later moving to West Liberty, where he engaged in farming for many years. Mr. Dorsey had been a resident of Elm Grove for the past 25 years. He was a Methodist by faith.

Surviving are two sons, Frank W. Dorsey, at home, and Blaine Dorsey of New York City; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Munnell and Mrs. Winona Ruth, both of Elm Grove; three sisters, Miss Carolyn Baldwin of Riverton, Ia., Mrs. Belle Snow of National City, Calif. and Mrs. Lena Ashbrook of Washington, Pa.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

His wife, Dillie McNinch Dorsey, died December 5, 1930. A daughter, Sylvia, died in infancy, and another daughter, Bessie Gay Dorsey, died March 4, 1940.
