Hon. Henry E. Stoughton late of Bellows Falls, died of paralysis at the residence of his son, Col. Charles B. Stoughton, in New York City, on Thursday evening last. Mr. Stoughton has long been one of the leading members of the bar in this state, and was a member of the Senate in 1861-62. For two or three years past he has resided in New York city, and has been engaged in the practice of his profession with his son Charles, and brother, Edwin H. Stoughton, who is one of the leading members of the New York bar. The funeral took place at Bellows Falls on Sunday, at 1 o'clock, p. m., and was largely attended by members of the Windham county bar and others of his old associates, a special train running from Brattleboro for the accommodation of people from this direction. His wife, Laura died in 1871.
