Funeral Services for Mattie Claire Mitchell, age 88 of Picayune, MS, who passed away Monday, November 25, 2013, will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at 11:00 am at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. Danny Stevens will officiate the service, assisted by Rev. Wayne Rice.
A native of Picayune, MS, she worked at Picayune High School for many years. Mattie Claire was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Morgan Frierson and Effie Louise Frierson; her husband, Benjamin Ira Mitchell Jr.; and her brother, Buddy "Snow" Frierson.
Survivors include her children, Benny Mitchell and wife Cindy, Diane Wilbanks and husband John, and Cindy Dyle and husband Billy; 8 grandchildren, Ashley, Jonathan, Chris, Kimberly, Leslie, Morgan, Lance, and Devin; 8 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Brennan, Payton, Creighton, Graham, Cohen, Avery, and Baylor; and her sister, Ruby Nell Willis.
