Uncle Ruf, I loved the stories my dad would tell of you. Because he looked up to you and your brothers, he related many tales of the "Adams Boys" and their accomplshments.

My Adams line intersects my Sheen line through your older brother, George Pilling Adams' marriage to my great grandma Ann Eliza Sheen-Forbes; what a great genetic mix of two faithful families!

History: Son of George Washington Adams and Mary Ann Pilling.

Married Sarah Ann Hill, 13 Nov 1882, Uintah, Morgan, Utah.

Rufus was active in the Layton community: trustee of the public schools for 10 years; superintendent of the Sunday School - 15 years; manager of Adams & Sons' Company; vice-president of the Layton First National Bank and director of the Woods Cross Canning Company.

In addition he was Utah State Senator from 1921 through 1924 and President of the Kays Creek Irrigation Company for several years, while, beginning in 1915, serving as First Counselor to the Bishop of the Layton Ward.

Children - Adelbert Rufus Adams, Ethel Annette Adams, Chloe Vilate Adams, Alta Louisa Adams, Melvin Marion Adams, Jenness Lavern Adams, Spencer Dewey Adams
