Alexander was the third child and first son of Murdock and Euphemia MacLeod; he married Katherine Ann MacPhersonn in 1911; they had no children.

Notes from Marjorie Matthews Bemont: Alex was a farmer; he and Kate also were caretakers of Historic houses, one being the Jason Russell House. No Children; buried Belfast Cemetery, PEI. PEIGS #58-1 does not list him; "My aunt Mary Morrow sent a photo postcard of the Presbyterian Church and graveyard at Belfast, PEI to my mother - it read 'brother Alex buried here'."
