DON CARSON TAIT TOQUERVILLE
DON CARSON TAIT passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013, at his home in Toquerville, UTAH.

He was BORN December 26, 1930, in HURRICANE, UTAH, to THOMAS CARSON TAIT and MARVA SANDERS.

On AUGUST 18,1952 he MARRIED NESHA DUTSON in the SALT LAKE TEMPLE.

DON graduated from Scottsdale High School in 1949, and served his his COUNTRY in KOREA as a STAFF SERGEANT in the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE.

He earned a degree in MECHANICAL ENGINEERING from the UNIVERSITY of ARIZONA in 1958, and began his career with the ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION.

Latter he retired from DIXIE COLLEGE after establishing the engineering department, serving as a professor, and DEAN of industrial Education.

Known as "Mr. SOLAR," DON was the first person in Southern UTAH to design, fabricate, and implement solar energy powered water heating systems, and taught others to construct their own systems.

He was a GENERAL CONTRACTOR.

His GREAT-GRANDMOTHER, ELIZABETH XAVIER, a native of india, was a WILLIE HANDCART survivor, and he served as of the UTAH PIONEERS.

DON served as commander of the STERLING RUSSELL POST 100 of the AMERICAN LEGION for 12 years and provided COLOR GUARD HONORS for deceased VETERANS for more than 40 years. He procured and from the B.L.M. for the existing AMERICAN LEGION facitity and SKY MOUNTAIN GOLF COURSE.

DON served a
term on the TOQUERVILLE City PLANNING COMMISSION.

He was a FAITHFUL home TEATHER all of his LIFE, served several stake missions and in the office of a SEVENTY. DON and NESHA served a FULL-TIME MISSION for the CHURCH of JESUS CHRIST of LATTER-DAY SAINTS in the TEXAS McALLEN MISSION.

He served as bishop of the HURRICANE 1st WARD, and worked as a TEMPLE WORKER at the FRONT DESK for 18 years.

He currently has 3 grandchildren serving MISSIONS, EPHRAIM TAIT in CHILE, LANE TAIT in the MARSHALL ISLANDS and HOLLY FULLMER in HOUSTON, TEXAS.

As a MEMBER of the FREEDOM FRIST FOUNDATION, DON worked tirelessly to protect and defend the constitution and educte others on the proper role of government.

Survivors include his WIFE of 62 years,

3 daughters and 2 sons.

Preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and a grand-daughter.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 in the TOQUERVILLE L.D.S. 1st. WARD CHAPEL.

A viewing will be held Friday, December 13,2013 from 6:00p.m.-7:00 p.m. and begin again Saturday at Services. Both Viewings will be in the TOQUERVILLE L.D.S. chapel.

INTERMENT will be in the TOQUERVILLE CEMETERY.
