Lois Matson, age 81, of Three Lakes, died on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 at Rennes Health and Rehab in Rhinelander. She was born April 20, 1932, in Sheboygan, to Chancy and Emma Anderson.

Lois married Vernon "Finn" Matson on Sept. 25, 1948, in Three Lakes, and they continued to reside in Three Lakes where they raised their family of three children. Lois was employed for many years at Starks Farms potato operation. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, baking and berry picking. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness and her willingness to always put the needs of others first. Lois was always busy and worked hard throughout her entire life and now she can rest.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Peter) Lawonn of Three Lakes; her two sons, Larry (Ida Kennedy) Matson of Three Lakes and Dan (Elizabeth) Matson of Rhinelander; four grandchildren, Sherry VanSkyhawk and Todd, Stacy, and Ryan Matson; three stepgrandchildren, Jessica Jorota and Ryan and Jason Tiesling; and a great-grandson, Steven Herman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon on July 4, 2005; three sisters, Ruth, Doris and June; and a brother, Chancy.

Burial will take place in the Three Lakes Cemetery.
