MISHAWAKA - William "Bill" Freeland, 71, passed away on Thursday, May 9, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Bill was born on November 9, 1941, in South Bend, to William and Wilma (Rice) Freeland. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill was a lifelong area resident. He worked for Logan Industries, Maron Products, for 10 years. Surviving are a sister, Kathleen (Al) Nichols of Noblesville, IN, and three brothers, David (Julynne) Freeland of Granger, Charles (Susan) Freeland of Missoula, MT, and Garry (Diane) Freeland of Granger. Also surviving are seven nieces, three nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Bill was a loving and outgoing person. He had a strong faith. His love of God, family and friends was always evident. His other passion was sports; he was a White Sox fan and an avid fan of any and all sports at Notre Dame. Bill loved entertaining his nieces and nephews with cards and playing UNO and Atari. Visitation will be on Monday, May 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Bob Vale officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Memorial Park, Granger. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Logan Industries, 3621 Boland Drive, South Bend, IN 46628.
