Mary Marguerite Hickman, 89 of West Liberty, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at Sterling House in Springfield.
She was born on July 23, 1924, in Cable, Ohio, a daughter of the late Orville and Martha "Marie" Brake Yeazell. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mike Hickman; sisters, Alice Wingfield and Florence Russell; and a brother, Melvin Yeazell.
On January 25, 1947, in Urbana, Ohio, she married Herman Hickman and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2009.
She was a homemaker and also worked at Maries Candies in West Liberty.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha (Rick) Haerr of Springfield; son, James D (Thresa) Hickman of West Liberty; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Hickman of West Mansfield; grandchildren, Scott (Brenda) Funderburg, Staci (Andy) Poland, Kelsey (Brian) Deal, Brandy (Tech Sgt Brad) Powell and Christy (Nate) Cook; eight great-grandchildren; special nieces, Elaine and Marcia; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A member of West Liberty United Church of Christ, she also enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, crocheting and most of all being with her family.
