DANESE — Winfred Theodore "Tink" Kincaid, 86, of Danese, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012, following a farming accident.
He was born September 20, 1925, at Layland, W.Va., to Jennings Carl and Vesta Ann Goddard Kincaid.
Tink was a coal miner and carpenter, who retired in 1987 as owner/operator of Kincaid Exxon in Danese. Tink honorably served four years in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific on board the USS Hancock.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a faithful servant of Green Valley United Methodist Church of Danese and the surrounding community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willard, Walter, and Ray Kincaid; and one sister, Kathleen Bragg.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nellie Ruth Smith Kincaid of Danese; three daughters, Ruth Ann Patterson and husband Randall of Meadow Bridge, Debbie Shuck and husband Danny of Danese, Teresa Bowman and husband Larry of Fairdale; three sons, Carl Kincaid of Maplewood, Roger Kincaid and wife Peggy of Danese, and Howard Kincaid and wife Kristy of Strongsville, Ohio; six sisters, Rachel "Dollie" Teel of Elyria, Ohio, Jeanie Eyler of Alabama, Lynn Martin of Talcott, Faye Turner of Forest Hill, Dottie Herndon of Hinton, and Francis Lane, of Beckley; 10 grandchildren: Brian Patterson, Emily Woods, Rebecca (Justin) Williams, Patrick and James Kincaid, Andrea Bowman and fiancé Victor Mender, Joshua Bowman, Loni (Mike) Harris, and Jennifer and Victoria Kincaid; three great-grandchildren: William, Annabelle and Collin Woods; two stepgrandchildren: Danny Shuck and Danetta Feltner; four stepgreat-grandchildren: Frank and Daniel Feltner, Annie and Philip Shuck.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at Green Valley United Methodist Church of Danese, with Pastors Jesse Pope and Daniel Legg officiating. Burial will follow at Fox Cemetery, Crickmer.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at the Green Valley United Methodist Church, Danese.
