Dean Lake Traxler, lawyer, was born at Leavenworth, Kansas, November 6, 1893, son of Benjamin Franklin and Mary Josephine (Van Petten) Traxler. Through his mother he is in descent from William Brewster of the "Mayflower".
He was graduated at Northwestern University in 1915 with the degree A.B. and at the law school of that institution in 1917 with the degree LL.B. In college he was a member of Delta Theta Phi and Deru fraternities, also the Wranglers; won Phi Beta Kappa and Delta Sigma Rho honors, and four letters in track and cross-country sports.
