Celebration of life services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Beatty's Corner Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Tim was born May 8, 1959 in Logansport, Indiana to James and Judy (Korrect) Bowen.
On May 2, 1981 he married Theresa Schmidt who is surviving in Michigan City.
They were blessed with three children: Michael, Tabatha and Tiffany. Tabatha married Scott Kintzele and blessed him with a grandson Adam. All reside in Michigan City.
Also surviving is a sister, Holly Bowen-Speary of Michigan City and a step-sister Deborah Kelly of Fairland, IN.
He is preceded in death by his parents and step-brother Mike Ishmel.
Tim worked in the Slab Yard at Arcelor-Mittal Steel. He was a member of Union Local 6787. He was deeply committed to anything he set his mind to do always giving 100% of himself to the task.
He was a hard worker and would be the first to help a co-worker or friend in need. Tim loved animals and was both caring and gentle with them. He was very devoted to his family and he will be deeply missed until we meet again in Heaven one day.
