Funeral for Guinn Thomas "Barney" Williamson, 85, of Decatur was to be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur with the Revs. Johnny Irish and Roy Spore officiating. Burial was to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Williamson died Thursday, March 26, 2009, in Bridgeport.
Born Dec. 7, 1923, in Decatur to Homer and Ruth (Taylor) Williamson. He graduated from Texas Tech with a chemical engineering degree and was vice president for Ingersoll-Rand of Houston. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur and was a member of the Wise County Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne and Scott Williamson.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, a daughter, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a niece and nephew.
