She was born August 14, 1920 in Rio Twp. Knox Co. Ill. the daughter of Charles and Pearl Klinglesmith Bell. She married Earl R. Copeland in Clinton, Iowa on February 16, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She is survived by two sons, Earl and (Carolyn) Copeland of Oneida, Ill. and James and (Diane) Copeland of Galesburg, Ill.; two daughters, Marsha and (John) Tock of Leonore, Ill and Nancy (Gerald) Underwood of Andover, Ill.; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and four sisters.
Catherine worked as a cook for the Altona Grade School for 10 years. She volunteered at Cottage and St. Mary Hospital and also the Rescue Mission. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Faith Circle.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 am Thursday December 12, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Mary Runge will officiate. Visitation will be 10-11 am Thursday. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, the Galesburg Rescue Mission, or the American Cancer Society.
