Charles Adolphus Gustavus Grant Jones was born to Selah and Emaline Jones, April 4, 1889, at Waynesville, Texas County, Missouri, and departed this life August 16, 1946, at Sidney, Iowa at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 12 days.

At the age of 60 he moved to Coin, Iowa and later to Imogene. At the age 72 he moved to Tabor and remained there (living with his son Dewey Jones) until at age 76 he then move to Sidney, Iowa (to live with son George Jones).

He was united in marriage to Sarah Frances McDonald 17 Nov 1898.

He is survived by 4 sons and 1 daughter, Dewey of Tabor, Iowa, George of Sidney, Iowa and Eddy and Fred both of Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Bessie Beck of Shenandoah, Iowa. He was preceded in death by one daughter Nellie Jones who departed this life in childhood.

He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren besides a host of friends.

Rev. John Brandt officiated at the services on Monday afternoon held at the Crawford funeral home in Sidney. Internment was in the Shenandoah Cemetery.
