Suggested edit: Ms. Julia "Polly" Sanders, 72, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at her home in Barnwell, South Carolina. She was born in Dorchester County on August 7, 1948 to the late L.C. and Gladys Collins. Polly moved to Barnwell in the 50's and became a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In 1967 she graduated from Barnwell High School. She was married to the late Jerry Sanders in December of 1966. In 1981 Jerry and Polly decide to open their own business, Barnwell Offset Printing Co. where she was the owner. She was also a member of Harmony Hope #229 Order of the Eastern Star. Polly, also known as Gran Gran loved to read, watch the cooking channel and cook for her family.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11:00AM in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens Cemetery on Reynolds Rd with Eastern Star Rites. Rev. Rommie Martin will be officiating. Please remember to use social distancing and the wearing of masks is requested.
She is preceded in death by: Her husband, Jerry Sanders; Parents, L.C. and Gladys Collins; Step-Mom, Adelle Collins; Granddaughter, Bailey Sanders; Sister, Peggy Collins; Brother and Sister-In-Law, Danny and Bonnie Collins; Sister-In-Law, Altha Platts; Brother-In-Law, Jimmy Fail. Polly is survived by her children: Robby (Teresa) Sanders, Donny (Christy) Sanders and Julia (Robbie) Ferguson all of Barnwell, South Carolina; Six Grandchildren: Robert (Candice) Sanders, Tori Sanders, Gabbi Sanders, Jerry Sanders, Nathan Moody and Wimberly Ferguson all of Barnwell, South Carolina; A niece and nephew that were more like grands: Hana (Mickey) Love and Tanner Collins both of Williston, South Carolina; Two brothers: W.C. (Emily) Collins of Barnwell, South Carolina and Benny (Melanie) Collins of Williston, South Carolina; Brother-In-Law, Leo Platts of Barnwell, South Carolina; Sister-in-law, Faye Fail of Barnwell, South Carolina; Two step-sisters. A host of nieces and nephews that were very dear to her heart. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: Harmony Hope #229 Order of the Eastern Star, 646 Jackson Street, Barnwell, South Carolina 29812 and American Heart Association, Post Office Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692
