Funeral services for Brenda Kathleen Manuel Laird will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in the Oak Hill Baptist Church of Oakdale with the Reverend Walter Cloud officiating. Committal services will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery of Oakdale under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Brenda, 60, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 8, 2013 in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born on May 22, 1953 in Kinder to the union of Dudley Manuel and Wilda Hebert Manuel. Mrs. Laird was a homemaker. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her father, Dudley Manuel; one daughter, Kimberly Annette Laird Deshotel; and one granddaughter, Katy Laine Deshotel.
She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, two sons, David Laird of Miami, Florida and Jameson Roy Laird of Elizabeth; three daughters, Rhonda Perez of Port Arthur, Texas, Heather Laird of Oakdale, and Tiffany Laird of Oakdale; two brothers, Troy Manuel of Tennessee and James Manuel of Oberlin; three sisters, Rachelle Manuel of Baton Rouge, Patsy Carpenter of Kinder, and Delane Manuel Henderson of Hessmer; 13 grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be her family.
Visitation will begin Monday, December 9, 2013, from 6 p.m. until service time in the church at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
