Gordon Earl "Gordy" Barton, 39, of 141 Tague Road, Vevay, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at 1031 S.R. 56 in Vevay. Death was attributed to natural causes.

He was born March 4, 1966, in Fort Wayne, the son of Theil M. "Sonny" and Roberta J. Scudder Barton. He was employed at the DGC Plastics plant in East Enterprise until it closed in 2004. He lived in Sedro-Woolley, Wash., for seven years, and was a meat cutter at Shank's Meats in Everett, Wash., in 1999. He also worked construction with Richard Scudder until his death. He enjoyed music, drawing, coin collecting and gardening.

Surviving are his mother, of Patriot; two sisters, Barbara Barrett of Auburn and Julie Coe of Florence, Ky.; three brothers, Daniel Barton of Vevay, Frank Barton of Arcole and James Barton of Snohomish, Wash.; his paternal grandmother, Marjorie Schaefer of North Huntingdon, Pa.; five uncles; five aunts; six nieces; and nine nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Aug. 21, 2000.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, with burial in New Liberty Cemetery in East Enterprise.

Friends may call from noon until the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the family or to the American Heart Association. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
