SHELTON, Arthur Richard "Dick" - - - He was my North, my South, my East and West, my working week and my Sunday rest, my noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought we would last forever; I was wrong." Arthur Richard "Dick" Shelton , a resident of Maurepas, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2009, at his home. He was 65 and a native of Baton Rouge. Dick served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet engine mechanic for the Thunderbirds. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Tuesday, April 28, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday in the chapel from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. The clergy will be the Rev. Glen Elmore and the Rev. Dale Kyle. Burial in St. Amant Baptist Church Cemetery, St. Amant. Survived by his wife of 42 years, Dianna Tanner Shelton ; daughters, Alisa Raymond and husband Lamar Alexander, Jeannie Shelton Siau, and Lori Shelton and husband Michael Peek; sons, Rick and wife Angela Belknap Watson, and Donald and wife Tusdy Houston Shelton ; grandchildren, Christopher and Jessica Raymond, Rachel Watson, Jean-Eric and Madeline Siau, Allison and Andrew Shelton , Michael and Jett Peek; sisters, Barbara Howansky, of Anderson, S.C., Carolyn Hope and the Rev. Glen Elmore, of Henderson, Nev., and Cindy and husband Joe Cooper, of Livingston; and brothers, James Donald and wife Anne Shelton , of Maurepas, Paul and wife Velma Shelton , of Greenback, Tenn., George and wife Sheila Shelton , of Maurepas, and Keith and wife Tracy Shelton , of Tennessee. Pallbearers will be his nephews, David Maness, Lucas Taylor, Dustin Taylor, Nicholas Cooper, Clint Powell and Daniel Shelton . Honorary pallbearer is his nephew, Caleb Shelton . He was preceded in death by his parents, James Donald Sr. and Mamie Hanks Robertson; and a brother, Lawrence Wayne Shelton . The family would like to extend a special thank you to the French Settlement VFD, Acadian Ambulance, the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office and the staff of Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet for all their support. Dick enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing and LSU sports.
