Rev. Everett R. Freeman
Lincolnton - The Rev. Everett R. Freeman, 81, of 2098 Dean Lane, Lincolnton, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007.
His funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Asbury United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Harold Leatherman, Tom Weeks and J.V. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
The Rev. Freeman was born June 5, 1925, in Lincoln County, to the late Marvin and Lucy Abernethy Freeman. He was a retired pastor, having served churches in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church from 1948 to 1989. They include Etowah, Richland Charge, Candler Charge, Davidson Charge, Milford Hills, Yadkinville, Christ-Charlotte, St. JohnsGreensboro, Tryon, OakleyAsheville and Spruce Pine. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
