Gustaf A. Johnson, 67, of 28 Hemlock Ave. died Friday at Rhode Island Hospital.

He was the husband of Gertrude M. (Brown) Johnson.

Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late August and Johanna A. (Johannson) Johnson.

Mr. Johnson had been a self-employed decorator and painter and owned Carlson & Johnson Inc. Most recently, he worked in the Rhode Island Hospital maintenance department from which he retired in 1977.

He was a member of Harmony Lodge 9, F & AM, Cranston, and the Johan Baner Lodge 36, Vasa Order of America, where he was a past district master.

He was a member of the U.S. CB Radio Association and the Old Foresters Hunting Club Inc. of New Hampshire.

Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, a son, a brother, four sisters and eight grandchildren.
