The Wanette Standard, 20 Oct 1910, Thurs., page 1
D. F. Boyer, a prominent businessman of our city, was found dead in a corn field on his farm near this city last Wednesday. An inquest was held by Justice E. B. Mundy and the jury found that he died of apoplexy. Funeral services were had at the U. B. Church by I. R. Haun, pastor of the Methodist Church, and the body was entered in the Wanette cemetery Thursday by the local lodge of I. O. O. F., of which he was a valued member. Mr. Boyer was a good man and was well liked by all. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family.
